Bio/Info: As you can see I am J'Urim! My style is what I would say is complicated but tight! My main gift from God is music. I sing as well as produce, however though I do produce, my productions are not at all monotone, in other words I make all kinds of music, from jazz, smooth soul jams, hip hop, or dance/house music I do what I feel regardless of what the naysayer happens to think or speak. I am a Christian, however I am one of those that actually show love, that means I am not apart of the church club in general, I am the one that brings people to the Kingdom of God rather than the kingdom of pastors and flash dressers. Amen! Don’t get it twisted though! I go the house of God to get my praise & worship on. You see it is a personal relationship with Christ Jesus that makes me a better person than who I was yesterday, and when I am making music I want my music to even make God jam! Yea that’s right I keep it real, and I keep it clean. Q: Why this name? A: Well Joshua is my birth name, and I was studying my bible one night and I ran across the word urim, now an urim which is in the old testament of the Christian bible was kept in the high priest’s breastplate for determining the will of God. This interesting fact was the inspiration behind the name J’Urim. Q: Do you play live? A: I sing live, and I promise you will be seeing and hearing a lot more from me live as a vocalist. Now as far as my instrumental productions, well lets just say you will be hearing them in various places. Q: How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry? A: Well yes I would say the internet changes, or even more accurately I would say it enhances the listeners/consumer s ability & experience in their function, thus it moves the advancing industry to forward momentum. Q: Would you still sign a record contract with a major label? A: Haaa Haa! No I could never be at piece with myself if I and my lively hood depended on a large body of corporate pimps. The only way I would go for such an offer, is if they would grant me creative rights to all my projects up front & on paper. I feel an educated artist/songwriter or producer understands the true meaning of what I just said. Q: Your influences? A: Well I love gospel music! That is from urban gospel music to some of the old school gospel music, I also enjoy positive inspirational soul or r&b music. My all time favorite vocalist would be Daryl Coley because I have never heard anyone to this day, rather male or female that could even come close to his talent or level of skill. On the production side my favorite producer is Dert from the Tunnel Rats, and yes tha man is the phatest producer I have yet to come across! No Offence! Q: Favorite spot? A:Miami Florida! Its just too beautiful!
