CHRIS MADDIN***Genre: other Location: San Antonio, TX Visits: 3094 | Bio/Info: My name is Chris Maddin i am the lead singer of Blowing Trees and the keyboardist of Rhyme mind theory. Hello it is nice to meet you...
My main influences are the great Bob Dylan, The Beatles, my favorate band Wilco, my other favorate band Radiohead, Bright eyes, Coldplay, The Arcade Fire, The Killers, Moddest Mouse and a bunch of other really good bands i am proud to say our mine.
Music is my life it is what i know and what i do best.
I have been playing solo shows away from Blowing Trees for about a year now. I strive on playing songs you normally would not hear people play, choosing obscure covers that might as well be my own. (usually no one knows the difference) It always means alot to me when they do. I mix these with songs of my own, most of which you would not hear at a Blowing Trees show. Most with a political edge or are about love or life, things that are real and not artificial like most music these days. Not to complain about my city but the music scene for the past couple of years has been nothing but metal bands or cover bands. The shortage of original music was acually quite depressing but the past year there has been some very good bands to surface via the blend, Starchild, The Cannon Brothers and Adenosine.
Since October of last year i have been playing every Tuesday night at Revolution Room across the street from Rebar on broadway and 410.
I usally start around 11:00 and play for two hours and my other band Rhyme Mind Theory closes out the night. Come by and experience music you wont hear any where else in the city. Tuesday Morning, It was Tuesday morning the sun was screaming, Stealing all the peace I was keeping, Steady steps to wash my face, Feeling heavy and out of place, I remembered the weight of the world and lied back down, Walking threw City Square, You were there to say you care, Well do you know that what you say, I will take to the grave? Now honey, We all walk different ways, If you’d said today well I’d see to it, Before tomorrow comes and you see I blew it, Like sand in my hand, something’s are so hard to understand, I’m sure, I’m sure you’ll get it, It was Wednesday morning the sun was gone, But for some reason I could not sleep on, So I rose so I could find, What to do with this tired mind, I remembered the weight of the world, I was awake, Monster man from T.V. land, Broadcast live and speak that jive, Tell it straight or don’t tell it at all, If the story sells ring that bell, Before the ratings fell from your grasp, Politician, Fact or Fiction, Fun and Games the Price of Fame, Your finest hour is such a shame, It’s such; it's such a shame, Made my way to say my mind, And you were right there by my side.
