Bio/Info: Coxcomb is a ska/punk influenced band (from San Antonio, Tx.) formed in mid August 1996. The band combines aggresive vocals with dynamic horns to form an original twist on the music they draw from. Inspirations include bands such as: VooDoo Glow Skulls, Mephiskapheles, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Choking Victim, The Specials, Less than Jake, The Skoidats, among many others. With songs about everyday love for life and beer, the six members are Seven, on vocals, Raul on guitar, Matt on bass, Beast on drums, Manuel on Saxaphone, and Alex on Trombone. Together, they wrote and co-produced their eight-track LP entitled, "Tell'em Large Marge Sent Us", Released in May 2000. Coxcomb was recently featured on the Total Disorder Records Volume I. For the past 9 years, Coxcomb has been playing all over Texas. Opening for such national acts such as:The Skoidats, Inspector 7, The Toasters, Pietasters, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mojo Nixon, Leftover Crack, The Indepenents, King Chango,Los Skarnales, Big D and the Kids Table, and Against All Authority to name a few. With new songs in hand, the band is currently working on thier second full length release. Not only will the new album show a more creative side to the band, but it will better capture the energy that is apparent at every one of Coxcomb's live shows.
