Bio/Info: Native Texan Mario dela Torres is creating a sound all his own. Mario's music is a mixture of Christian, Classical, Blues, Rhythmic, Urban, Afro-Cuban, Alternative, and a splash of psychedelica. Mario "cut his teeth" working the Texas cover band circuit in South Texas and the Christian Indie music scene in the north Texas/Dallas area. He has had the privilege of working with Phillips Craig and Dean, Dorothy Norwood, Cynthia Greene of the Brooklyn Tabernacle choir, Ted Pearce, Rohn Bailey, Susan Gray, and Mikaila. Mario shared guitar duties with Andy Timmons on the Big Methuselah CD, "Human Sacrifice." The band Big Methuselah was inducted into "7 ball Unsigned Artist who Rock" along with Mercy me and Pillar. Mario's guitar has graced Christian Indie radio stations around the world and various Christian television Video ministries. His current discography consist of 4 CDs and a couple of music videos. While living in Navasota Texas, the "Blues capital of Texas" Mario was lucky enough to take guitar lessons from Texas blues legend Mance Lipscomb and while visiting Austin Texas he traded guitar riffs with guitar legend Eric Johnson. Over the last ten years Mario has been involved with several ministries in the Dallas area, including The Christ Temple Praise band, ACTS, Tom Dooley/The Journey, 91.7 Power FM, Behind the Wire prison ministry, Global Glory, and World Vision. Mario counts God, family, friends as his greatest source of inspiration. He has come to the realization that music is a gift from above, a portal to share Christ, with the world. Mario is currently at work recording a new Latin music project and is performing at select venues in the Dallas area.
