The Johns are part roots rock, part southern rock and a little alt.country. Insightful lyrics, delivered with a whiskey drawl , backed by a gritty southern twang. Although a rock band, you cannot help but notice a shot of country . Influences include the Rolling Stones, Uncle Tupelo, Whiskeytown, Wilco, Drive-by-Truckers, Tragically Hip, Crazy Horse and the Replacements. The Johns recent release is a 6-song E.P.called “9-volt graveyard." The Johns make their home in Austin, TX. The four piece currently consists of vocalist Mike McAnally, guitarist James White, bassist Keith McKay and drummer Dennis Carter.

The musics will be all acoustic from 8-10pm Keith is going to sit in on bass and our old friend Randy Spence (of even olcder friends Stick Pony) has promised to drop by and play some mandolo. Plus, part time "John" - Larry Tracy (of Eric Hisaw Band) will play pedal steel with the boys all night long. This is a special treat for those of you that just go to the bombastic rock shows.
