The Blend?Genre: other Location: San Antonio, TX Visits: 13216 | Bio/Info: Combining psychedelic rock-blues, reggae, punk, hip hop, country and whatever else they're on at the time, The Blend? has been turning heads all across San Antonio for over two years now. In this short period of time they have evolved from unknown garage pioneers into respected locals on a newly budding San Antonio music scene; perhaps more importantly, however, The Blend? represents part of a reawakening currently taking place in rock music.(Dig?)The unlikely combination of these four former church-school mates has produced a musical philosphy rooted in both tradition and experimentation. A "create while you perform" mentality made early performances a truly new and curious sight, leaving audiences and band members alike dazed, confuzed, and definitely entertained. Despite a steady sharpening of their sound, The Blend? has maintained the raw and mysterious spirit that was ignited during their fisrt jam session. Simply put, audiences have come to know The Blend? phenomenon as a musical free-for-all with improvisation and collaboration as a vital parts of the mix.
Their well over 100 live performances have included shows at the historical Taco Land, The White Rabbit, Baker's St. Pub, The Place, Broadway Brew Haus (though we're now banned for supposedly stealing beer after getting stiffed),Jack's Patio Bar, The Three-Legged Monkey, Broadway 50/50, Rebar, Revolution Room, The Sanctuary, Black Lion, The Lounge on Ave. B, the Blue Star art complex(including the famous Flight gallery), Cafe Revolucion, as well as shows in Austin and beyond. They've also graced the stage with national touring acts Pepper, The Weary Boys, and Bargain Music.
With several recording sessions alredy under their belt, a third major project was recently taken to the studio in preparation for the release of The Blend?'s first full-length album.
